USIJ Joins More Than 230 Businesses and Organizations Telling Congressional Judiciary Committees to Take Cautious Approach to New Patent Legislation
Today, the USIJ, as well as more than 230 businesses and organizations - including small businesses, non-profit foundations, American innovators, universities, and startups - sent leaders from both the House and Senate Judiciary Committees a letter outlining our concern over new patent legislation. The letter also brings attention to proposals that will weaken our current system which will lead to a loss of innovation. Finally, the letter points out positive developments, such as a 40% drop in patent litigation, in the patent world that should be considered before making changes to the system.
