Today, the USIJ, as well as more than 230 businesses and organizations – including small businesses, non-profit foundations, American innovators, universities, and startups – sent leaders from both the House and Senate Judiciary Committees a letter outlining our concern over new patent legislation. The letter also brings attention to proposals that will weaken our current system which will lead to a loss of innovation. Finally, the letter points out positive developments, such as a 40% drop in patent litigation, in the patent world that should be considered before making changes to the system.
