Who came up with a design for a cubical camera first: GoPro or Polaroid?

C&A Marketing, the maker of Polaroid’s Cube camera, filed a lawsuit against GoPro Tuesday alleging the company copied the Cube’s design for its own camera, the Hero4 Session. C&A obtained a patent for the Cube in May, roughly two months before GoPro released the Hero4 Session, in July.

While Polaroid did beat GoPro to market with a cube-shaped camera, and the devices do resemble each other, one design expert points out that Polaroid basically knocked off GoPro, then turned around and sued the company for patent infringement.
